Profile
Thomas M. Barber - "Tommy" pictured above during his time with State Representative Stan McClain, HD23 (Part of Marion County, FL).
Born and raised in Ocala, Fl, Tommy Barber has been able to bear witness to the exponential growth of Marion County, from just over 100,000 residents to almost 400,000 now. With a solid and steady increase of the overall population in the state of Florida, this comes as no surprise to native tax payers that have endured the cost of an ever expanding infrastructure to support the needs of the masses relocating to the Sunshine State.
Property values are at a record high and with the shortage of inventory in the real estate market, many locals have to make difficult choices on whether to continue living in an area that exceeds their ability to afford a realistic cost of living; or relocate to another county and try their hand at establishing a homestead.
Resettling roots in a community that allows greater financial security by way of lower property values, less taxation and of course the least amount of traffic and congestion from over population; seemed like a wise decision to prospect the rural counties that aren't likely to boom for at least a couple of decades or more.
These are among the many reasons that Tommy Barber decided to move away from The Horse Capitol of The World to explore and invest in the Big Bend area of North Central Florida from the Gulf Coast to the Florida-Georgia line.

"While navigating through many obstacles this year (2018) with House Bill 165, Written Threats to Conduct Mass Shootings or Acts of Terrorism, Tom ensured that he stayed in constant contact with the FPCA and welcomed us into his office with new updates on the bill daily. Always considering the bill’s next move, we knew that HB165 was in the best of hands with... Tom working so diligently behind the scenes. Whenever FPCA staff speaks with Tom, he is always happy to point out that he is doing “better than he deserves” despite the stress and responsibilities on his plate."
